The Loudoun Child Care Network holds two annual events. We offer the Loudoun Child Care and Resource Fair in the spring, and the Loudoun Child Care Providers’ Conference in the fall.
Our 14th Annual Loudoun Child Care & Resource Fair was held on March 28, 2009 at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center in Leesburg, VA.
We had Child Care Providers, Child and Family Merchandise/Services, informative displays, fun activities, shows, and entertainment for the kids. See event photos below.
October 2009 Loudoun Child Care Providers’ Conference
The conference was held at River Creek Club in Leesburg, VA and presented a wonderful opportunity to receive valuable child care training, a chance to network with other child care professionals, and to enjoy a splendid breakfast and lunch in a luxury setting.
The event was sponsored by the Loudoun Child Care Network and the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
The registration fee included a continental breakfast and a hot plated luncheon, as well as educational training which increased participants' professional development and counted towards their state training requirements.

8:45 – 10:30 am FROGS, FOSSILS AND FLOWERS: SCIENCE EXPLORATION MADE EASY!
Marcy Hemminger
Learn practical, inexpensive and exciting ways to incorporate science into your weekly plans, making your students scientists who love to investigate. This workshop will show you how to infuse science into your learning centers, outdoor play, small and large group sessions, and even through independent play.
10:30 – 10:45 am CAREGIVER DEVELOPMENT UNIT PROGRAM RECOGNITION
Presented by Winnie Kate Burns, Loudoun Child Care Network Co-Chair, Fakhra Khalid, Treasurer, Loudoun Child Care Network, State Licensed Child Care Provider; Farah Ibrahim, Loudoun Child Care Network Board Director, State Licensed Child Care Provider.
Learn about the Caregiver Development Unit Program –how participation through training can help you in communicating to parents your commitment to providing quality child care.
2008 Child Care Provider CDU Honorees will be presented plaques and plates.

11:00 – 12:00 pm AMAZING ATHLETES
Coach Robert Jackson
Learn the basic fundamentals and mechanics of different sports like baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, volleyball, hockey, football, lacrosse and soccer. Learn about hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular fitness. You will learn more about the Amazing Athletes program and have the chance to participate in a demonstration!
12:00 – 1:15 pm LUNCH
Garden Salad, Warm Rolls and Butter then choose from Tuscan Chicken with Herb Risotto, Sautéed Tomatoes and Artichokes or Goat Cheese Ravioli and vegetables, followed by Cheesecake and Coffee, Iced Tea and Sorbet.
1:15 – 2:15 pm PLAYGROUND SAFETY
Carmelina Favro, Certified Playground Inspector
This workshop will cover basic playground safety for teachers and center systems for ongoing playground safety and maintenance as well as offering a variety of resources that can be adapted to your program.
2:15 – 2:45 PM CLOSING, EVALUATIONS, CERTIFICATES AND DOOR PRIZES
Each participant will be eligible for fantastic door prizes!
